SPEAKER KROWINSKI STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF REPRESENTATIVE WARREN KITZMILLER

Montpelier, VT – Today, House Speaker Jill Krowinski issued the following statement on the passing of Representative Kitzmiller:

“I am heartbroken to hear about the passing of Representative Warren Kitzmiller. Representative Kitzmiller was first appointed to represent Montpelier in the House in 2001, following the death of his wife, the late state Representative Karen Kitzmiller. This year, Warren decided to retire and not run for re-election after 22 years of service. His proudest moment was his vote on marriage equality. Many of us will remember Warren not only for that vote but his love for and dedication to his Montpelier community. I will always remember him talking passionately about the annual cold weather coat drive. My thoughts are with his family and the Montpelier community. He will be deeply missed. Warren is survived by his wife, Jeanne Cariati, and daughters Amy and Carrie.”
