SPEAKER KROWINSKI, SENATE PRESIDENT PRO TEM BARUTH ISSUE STATEMENT FOLLOWING SCOTT ADMINISTRATION’S EDUCATION TRANSFORMATION PROPOSAL
Montpelier, Vt. – Today, House Speaker Jill Krowinski and Senate President Pro Tem Phil Baruth issued the following statement following the Scott Administration’s education transformation proposal to the General Assembly:
“We thank the Governor for bringing forward a proposal to transform Vermont’s public education system and we look forward to working together throughout the session. The Legislature and the Governor are aligned in the belief that we must take on the serious task of transforming our education system so all Vermont kids have the opportunity to thrive.
“In the coming weeks, House and Senate committees will be hard at work digging into the Governor’s proposal and hearing from Vermonters, parents, educators, administrators, and students. The details matter and we need to get it right. Our kids, our schools, and our communities are counting on us. We know it won’t be easy, but we all share the same goals – making sure students have what they need to thrive at a price Vermonters can afford. When Vermont’s kids have what they need to succeed, we all win.”
