SPEAKER KROWINSKI STATEMENT ON TARGETED MASS SHOOTING IN BUFFALO
Montpelier, Vt. – Today, House Speaker Jill Krowinski issued the following statement:
“I am heartbroken, horrified, and in complete shock by the senseless killing of 10 people in a racially motivated attack. Growing up in the Buffalo area, I know how close and connected the community is and the pain and disbelief that everyone is going through following this evil act. Desperately trying to contact family and friends back home is unfortunately something many other Americans have gone through, and we absolutely must continue the work to tear down the hateful rhetoric that exists in our nation and fuels these targeted attacks. Our country cannot allow the seeds of hate to sow in our communities, and together we must speak up and stand up against intolerance each and every day. Vermonters mourn for the community, the family and friends that were impacted by this senseless act.”
